Look Ma, I’m in Time Magazine!

Kickin’ off June by being featured in TIME MAGAZINE! Yes, the TIME Magazine!

One year and one day to the date that I was laid off, I was interviewed by about my decision to pursue my own photography business full-time instead of looking for a new job. How wild is that timing?!

They even ran a photo of me photographing Bill de Blasio, which was actually one of the first gigs I got after losing my job!

I never publicly announced it, but in June 2022, I was laid off of my full-time role in marketing (along with my entire team.) I felt that it was the universe’s way of telling me to take a chance on myself + go all in as an entrepreneur in my own business that I'd been running on the side.

It’s been an interesting last year figuring it out. It’s been fun, yet frankly, also really tough, making a go at photography full-time. Moments of recognition like this remind me that I’m on the right path.

Here's to one year of embracing the path less traveled - and to many more years to come!

Thank you to Alana Semuels for the chance to tell my story and to the Freelancers Union and Rafael Espinal for connecting me to this opportunity.
